Last Sunday we took Barrett to the zoo. We wanted to do something fun with him before the baby is born. He is into animals right now so we figured that would be a big hit. He had a great time minus the random fall apart because we wouldn't let him ride the rhino :) He saw it and said he wanted to ride it. I jokingly asked if he wanted mommy to put a saddle on it so he could ride it, forgetting momentarily how literal children are at this stage, and he got really excited, thinking that was the best suggestion mom had ever had...only to be crushed (tears and the whole shebang) when I told him he couldn't really ride the rhino :( A sad, but humorous moment. The only other bummer was that the fountains were broken and he didn't get to play in the water--half the reason for visiting the B'ham zoo with a toddler. He had fun regardless. His favorite animal was the big gorilla.

"Bye, bye, monkey."
We went to the Waffle House after our excursion. Barrett ate his first waffle and loved it! The waitress gave Barrett a hat and he loved that too!
